Supporting sport, culture, and community

The WolfStrata Group partners with Valour FC to launch the Indigenous Youth Community Section

The WolfStrata Group (WolfStrata) is proud to partner with Valour FC to launch the Indigenous Youth Community Section at Princess Auto Stadium. This new community initiative provides free match-day tickets to Indigenous groups focusing on youth and families. Two hundred tickets will be given away at every home match, allowing more people to experience “the beautiful game” right here in Winnipeg.

“Supporting the Indigenous Youth Community Section builds on our passion for local sports and our commitment to giving back to the community,” says Raj Perumal, CEO of WolfStrata. “Helping bring Indigenous youth and their families to matches is something we’re extremely proud to be part of.”

Valour FC took to the pitch on June 2nd for its 2024 home opener. The club will play 14 matches at home this season, meaning up to 2,800 people will enjoy the action from seats in this special section alongside friends and fellow community members who are making a difference.

“Valour FC is committed to inclusivity and community engagement, and the Indigenous Youth Community Section is a testament to that commitment. By partnering with WolfStrata, we aim to create memorable experiences for Indigenous youth and their families, fostering a love for the game and building lasting community ties,” says Wade Miller, President and CEO of Valour FC.

“Our national office is in Winnipeg and we’re extremely proud to be a Manitoba-owned company,” says Perumal. “This is our home, and we’re honoured to be joining forces with Valour FC—a club that is bringing so much excitement and positivity to our community. We look forward to seeing friends and colleagues at a Valour game this season.”

2024 Valour FC jerseys celebrate Indigenous culture, heritage, and history

This year, the club’s alternative kit features a special jersey celebrating Indigenous culture, heritage, and history. Designed by Winnipeg Football Club graphic designer Amanda McWha and with input from the organization’s Director of Indigenous Relations Niigaan Sinclair, the black jersey is dominated by a sunflower at the centre, with the prairie crocus featured on the kit’s four corners.

The club will be donning this jersey during its game on September 30th, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, as well as other select matches throughout the season.
